Is this what we REALLY wanted?

As I sit here in my bedroom and listen to our new President elect, scratch that, our first AFRICAN AMERICAN President elect, I wonder how many african americans like me are feeling how I'm feeling. I don't mean that they were anti-Obama from the start like I was. I mean that this victory is bitter sweet, admittedly for me, it's more bitter than it is sweet, but I can deal with that. What I want to know, from my fellow african americans who are Christians and voted for Obama, the questions I pose to you are the following.

1) Do you support gay rights? Obama does.
2) Do you support a pro choice view that considers children a "punishment" for failing to practice abstinence? Obama does
3) Do you support a liberal world view? Obama does
4) Do you support a homosexual agenda being promoted in our schools? Obama does

I have tons more questions... but i'll limit my thoughts to these few here and deal with it. God is sovereign and His will is done. But I wanted to leave my brothers and sisters in Christ with something to think about while we're celebrating our new President. I will support Obama in office because it's my civic duty, but these are my thoughts. Anyone have any mature feedback? Preferably Christians (black or white).

And none of those issues matter as the PResident's job description has no bearing towards those views and the policies that are brought before Congress. One should be more concerned for local leaders that have these views ;)

TRUE... until they get through congress and end up on his desk for the "pass or fail". And lets be honest, FEDERAl law trumps STATE law. We both know the president picks the judges and congress (which looking to be a democratic congress) passes or fails them. Looks like the weather is really changing in our political climate.

Actually no. State law trumpts federal law. Not only is the Constitution designed it so, but also the Supreme Court has made sure to hold up the rights of States to administrate their regions as long as the precident can applicably be seen or done elsewhere (except Cali and Texas for some historical reasons).

I'm glad for Obama's election into office. What I fear is that folks don't understand that the issues that have been made as major aren't things that matter for his immediate influence. Its the local assembly where we the people have our power to effect change...

...I need to stop. The more I talk about this, the more I want to engage in politics and become a change agent in the discussion.

Looks like a great discussion...I have shared my comments on my blog at http://wwahhmpreneur.wordpress.com/.

In a nutshell,
*we need to support our new P-E
*we need to first do this through our prayers
*we need to get up and get involved locally
*we need to set the example in our homes regarding moral and spiritual issues
*government, at all levels, sucks when it comes to handling moral issues...therefore, our focus should be on prevention 1st through prayer and then through our lives
*little girls who are seduced by and/or raped by boys/older men need our support from a young age to teach them self-esteem so they won't be such easy targets and then birth control and abortion won't even be issues on the table
*little children need to be taught appropriate sexual boundaries and morality from a young age; and parents need to stop being afraid to deal with these issues because predators are cultivated and not born (know from experience)...obviously this is a huge problem in America and all over the world, so parents need help with understanding how to help their kids so they don't end up predators or victims (or both)

I could go on, but will stop...hope you'll check out my blog
